100wc (so, as I looked over the edge I saw)

I had just finished school as I casually entered my cramped and bleak flat. I swung my cheap polyester backpack over my shoulders and onto the floor . I strolled in to the kitchen only to see the kitchen window broken and stained with crimson red blood. I gasped trying to suck in air flailing to breath, she couldn’t be dead it might’ve just been, not knowing how to finish that sentence I moved on . Until now life had been just so, as I looked over the edge I saw her laying almost peacefully in a pool of blood.

  1. I really liked this piece of writing! At the beginning, it seemed more ‘casual’ but when you mentioned the broken window and the crimson red blood, it shocked me because I was not expecting that.
